German Village

German Village is one of Columbus’s oldest neighborhoods. Settled by German immigrants in the 1800s, it still retains much of its original 19th-century architecture and old-world charm. Take a stroll down Schiller or Third Street to admire the brick townhomes, quaint cafes, and neighborhood taverns. Stop into the German Village Meeting Haus for a glimpse of the neighborhood’s German heritage or wander through Schiller Park to see the Regina Fountain, a replica of a fountain in Germany. Some of our favorite things to do in German Village include browsing the Book Loft, one of the largest independent bookstores in the country, grabbing a coffee and pastry at Pistacia Vera, trying a hearty German meal at Schmidt’s Sausage Haus, and checking out the harmonious gardens tucked between homes. With our party buses, we can pick your group up anywhere in Columbus and drop you off right in the heart of German Village to start your walking tour.
